How much does a will cost in the UAE? (2026 fees)

4 min read · Updated 7 October 2026

A will in the UAE costs anywhere from about AED 2,250 all-in to well over AED 15,000, depending on the route. The price has two parts people often mix up: the fee for PREPARING the document, and the government fee for REGISTERING it — they're separate, and the registration fee goes to the court, not to whoever prepared your will.

Here are the 2026 numbers, all routes side by side.

ADJD also lists a premium will option at AED 2,500 registration. Unless the court's own application flow gives you a clear reason to need it, the standard AED 950 registration is the one most people use.

What the registration fee buys

The court fee covers ADJD's review of your application, the video-call notarisation with the court's own notary, and entry of your will into the court register. You pay it directly to ADJD through their portal — a preparation service never handles it for you.

Costs people forget to count

  • Revisions: some providers charge per change. (WillReady includes free revisions before the will is filed with the court.)
  • Translation: the ADJD process is bilingual — if your document isn't Arabic/English side by side, translation is an extra cost elsewhere.
  • A second will for your spouse: two separate single wills cost more than a mirror package everywhere that offers one.

Frequently asked

Why is DIFC so much more expensive?

DIFC's Wills Service Centre charges its own registration fees (roughly USD 2,600 for a full single will) and most people also pay a lawyer to draft. It's an established route with its own advantages — the price is the trade-off.

Is the AED 950 court fee included in WillReady's price?

No — and it isn't included in anyone's price. It's ADJD's fee, paid by you directly to the court through their portal. We state it separately because that's what it is.

Are there hidden costs with online will services?

Watch for per-revision charges and translation fees. With WillReady the AED 1,299 includes the bilingual document, the lawyer review, free revisions and filing the application with ADJD for you; the only other cost is the court's own AED 950.
