Privacy Policy

• Account details: your name, email address, and phone number.
• Identity details needed for your will: date of birth, nationality, passport number, Emirates ID (if you're a UAE resident), home address, marital status, and your declared country of domicile.
• Details about people you name in your will: the full name, date of birth, nationality, and passport or Emirates ID number of any beneficiaries, executors, and guardians you nominate, and of your children.
• Payment records: the amount paid, the package selected, and payment status. We do not collect or store your card or bank details — these are handled directly by our payment provider, Ziina.
• Anything you tell us directly, for example over WhatsApp or email, when you ask for help.

Under the UAE's Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data (the "PDPL"), we process personal data only where we have a lawful basis to do so. For each purpose, that basis is:

• Preparing your will document (the specific fields the ADJD form requires) — necessary to perform our contract with you.
• Creating and securing your account, verifying your identity through one-time email codes, and preventing fraud — necessary to perform our contract with you and to protect the security of our service.
• Processing payment for our service — necessary to perform our contract with you.
• Contacting you about your will and responding to your support requests — necessary to perform our contract with you.
• Telling you about our service beyond that — only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
• Meeting our legal, accounting, and regulatory obligations as a licensed business — necessary to comply with the law.

Your data is stored in a managed PostgreSQL database provided by Neon, hosted in Singapore, and processed on application servers provided by Railway. Connections between your device and our servers are encrypted.

Some information you enter — like your in-progress answers to the questionnaire — is kept in your browser's local storage on your own device until you submit it to us, for example to generate a preview or complete payment.

Because our database and application infrastructure are provided by international providers, your personal data is stored and processed outside the United Arab Emirates.

Where personal data is transferred outside the UAE, we do so in accordance with the transfer provisions of the PDPL (Articles 22–23): we transfer only to jurisdictions or providers that offer an adequate level of protection for personal data, or, where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards — such as contractual data-protection commitments from the provider — or another mechanism the PDPL permits, including your express consent.

Each provider listed in section 5 processes your data under contractual terms that restrict its use to providing their service to us.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

We share the minimum data necessary with a small number of service providers who help us run WillReady, under contract and only for that purpose:

• Neon — database hosting (Singapore)
• Railway — application hosting (the servers that run willready.ae and generate your document)
• Our reviewing lawyer — an experienced lawyer with UAE experience, engaged by WillReady and bound by professional confidentiality, who receives your completed will document together with your name and email address, solely to review the document before it is filed
• Resend — sending verification and account emails
• Ziina — processing payments
• Cloudflare — network security, DNS, and routing of email sent to our support address
• WhatsApp (Meta) — support conversations, where you choose to contact us on WhatsApp. Anything you send us there is also processed by Meta under WhatsApp's own terms and privacy policy, so please avoid sending documents or details there that we haven't asked for.

When we file your will application, we submit your signed will and the copies of your passport, Emirates ID and residence visa you give us to ADJD through the ADJD portal, under the UAE Pass login you approve, solely for that application. We do not send your data to any other court or authority. We delete the ID copies you send us once your will is registered.

We may disclose information where required to by law, or to protect our legal rights.

We keep personal data no longer than we need it for the purpose it was collected for. In practice:

• Account and will data — kept while your account is active, so you can re-download and revise your will. If you ask us to delete your data, we delete it unless a legal obligation requires us to keep specific records.
• Payment and transaction records — kept for the period required by UAE accounting, tax, and commercial-records law, even after an account is deleted.
• Support conversations — kept for as long as reasonably needed to resolve your matter and maintain a record of what was agreed.

Under the PDPL you have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. To exercise any of these, email hello@willready.ae. We aim to respond within a reasonable timeframe, consistent with the PDPL and any other law that applies to you.

To prepare your will, you give us personal data about people who are not our customers — beneficiaries, executors, guardians, and your children. We process that data solely to prepare your will document, on the basis that it is necessary for the contract we perform for you, and we apply the same protections to it as to your own data.

By providing it, you confirm that you are entitled to share that information with us for this purpose, and — where consent is the applicable basis — that the person concerned has consented, or that you provide it under another lawful basis (for your minor children, as their parent or guardian).

Anyone you have named may contact us at hello@willready.ae to ask what data we hold about them and to exercise the rights described in section 7. If you would like a copy of this policy to share with the people you name, this page is publicly accessible at willready.ae/privacy and needs no account to read.

We use one essential cookie to keep you signed in after you verify your email. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.

As noted above, your questionnaire answers are held in your own browser's local storage rather than in a cookie, until you submit them to us.

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections and hashed verification codes. No system is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security, but we take this seriously.

If we become aware of a personal-data breach, we will notify affected individuals and the competent UAE authority where required by applicable law, without undue delay.

We do not knowingly collect data directly from children. Details about your minor children are provided by you, the parent, only where relevant to naming a guardian in your will.

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top will always reflect the current version.
